A tincture is simply a liquid extract of an herb(s) that you take by mouth. The nice thing about tinctures is they concentrate the useful chemical constituents and medicinal properties of the plant material into a liquid (usually alcohol, vegetable glycerin or apple cider vinegar). Kadence Naturals uses organic grain alcohol in our Tinctures. Tinctures are often more effective than over the counter or prescription medications without the nasty side effects.
Tinctures are best taken on an empty stomach. This gives the herb(s) a chance to get into your system undeterred. Everyone's body is different. 1-2 droppers initially is more than adequate, from there you can adjust up or down.
A single squeeze is considered one dropperful of tincture. No matter how long your dropper is one squeeze will usually provide the same amount of tincture since the bulb on the dropper is the same size. Squeeze the dropper to release a dose under your tongue. The tincture will enter your system most effectively if taken under the tongue. The tincture will taste very strong. Try to hold it under your tongue for 30-60 seconds before swallowing. If the taste is too much you may take a sip of juice or water to rid the taste. You can also add the Tincture to your juice or water as well as swallow it.
